To make venison pasta, you need to start with the following ingredients:
1 pound of venison -- you can mix in turkey burger for the picky venison eater... (not recommended)
wheat pasta - 4 or 5 handfuls
1 8 ounce can of tomato sauce
2 tablespoons of basil... even better if it came from your garden.
1 Hungarian pepper -- diced
1 onion -- diced
1 tablespoon of fresh garlic -- diced
1 teaspoon of McCormick chipotle chili pepper
salt and pepper to taste
Start by browning the venison in a stew-pot. While the venison is browning, bring some water to a boil. Once the water is complete, add the pasta and cook it until it reaches the desired consistency.
After the meat is browned, add a cup of water plus all of the other ingredients. Let the mixture cook down until the sauce has reached its desired consistency (for thicker sauce add a can of tomato paste). The sauce will thicken the more it cooks. Combine the pasta with the sauce and you are ready for dinner. This recipe sounds simple but is very tasty.
